It seemed like a good idea but…
So I hooked up the speakers near my head, put on the modded MindWave and went to sleep. As seems to be the norm for me, I didn’t start dreaming until around 5 am. The sound file that is triggered is a recording of my wife saying “Tom you are dreaming, take control”. Well when I started dreaming and the sound file was played the shock of hearing she who must be obeyed was so startling that it instantly woke me up with absolutely no memory of the dream and my heart racing. Maybe a simple chime sound would work better.

Audio Tracks During REM Sleep
Four tracks played within six minutes: two of the tracks can be seen in the featured minute and I distinctly remember when the second one played. The rush from knowing that the world around me was a dream can clearly be seen in the seconds that followed. I tried to control my eye movements for the first time, but the effect I was hoping for did not make it across.

Another track played in the morning and woke me up during REM sleep, feeling very refreshed.

Preparation: chewed a few calea leaves.

Wake Initiated Lucid Dream
I went to bed very late and started dreaming exactly ten minutes after I lay down. The track played a minute into the dream which continued for another 3 minutes. 13 blinks can be seen in the minute above before the track played.

Preparation: chewed a few Calea leaves four hours earlier.

REM Sleep Interrupted
The track woke me up and ended the dream that it detected rather abruptly as can be seen after the eight blinks above. I did, however, manage to remain completely still and awake for the next 10 minutes until the hallucinations started again.

Although I was focusing on the end of the dream and thinking through all the things that I would have done differently with more awareness, I simply started seeing the room I was in through closed eyes. There were things that I knew could not be there and I was able to get up ever so slowly and set out on an epic adventure.

2012-01-25 – FIELD 15

Lucid Scribe Data
Day 15. I had a vivid non-lucid dream, a lot of dream characters resembled people I knew in waking life.

It was so real, but I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming, started to have feelings passed into the dreams.

I think I’ll just record days I do the FIELD instead of adding days I don’t since I haven’t had the chance to practice the FIELD before Jan. 25th because I was getting adjusted to my college schedule.

And I also would wake up with only 30 minutes to get to my first class of the day, so it was just too stressful for me at the time.

2012-01-13 – Field Day 10

Lucid Scribe Data
I didn’t recall any dreams when using the program. I think I’m going to wake up after 2-3 hours of sleep, because I think my body is used to just getting 6 hours instead (and I usually have trouble sleeping back unless I know have extra time on my hands).

I might have to do this for college because I wouldn’t want to oversleep and miss my classes.

2012-01-12 – Day 8 and 9 FIELD

Mouse Sleep Alarm
For Day 8, I completely forgot to do it because I woke up pretty early and felt like going back to sleep. I was just too sleepy to even gather enough effort.

Day 9, I did two WBTB with the FIELD, recalled 4 dreams overall from those two attempts.

2012-01-10 – FIELD Day 7

Mouse Sleep Alarm
Things went smoothly this time. No distractions. Recalled 4 dreams after I recalled 2 dreams before taping the mouse again and did a WBTB. (I found that taping the little sensor on the bottom prevents the mouse from moving, so I don’t have to worry about right clicking anymore).

2012-01-07 – FIELD Day 4

Mouse Sleep Dreaming
This day was completely horrible. I woke up with maybe 3-4 hours sleep without using the program, recalled some dreams.

Tried to WBTB with the FIELD method, nothing, I couldn’t even sleep. There is some data missing because around the 5 AM-ish mark, it only gets recorded until 6 AM. The other 30 minutes of holding the mouse after I catch back from drifting (didn’t feel myself in the dream state) is not obtained because I accidently right clicked outside the Lucid Scribe program.

Sleep Detector Mouse
Overall, it took me 15-20 minutes to fall asleep while practicing this.

The sensation I felt the most was the blood inside the two fingers I held both mouse buttons with rushing towards that point.

I used that sensation to keep a low level of consciousness. I eventually let go of the buttons and heard the Anthem.mp3 file play and immediately went back to pressing the buttons on the mouse.

I’ll try my best to keep practicing this technique. I think I can pull off a WILD if I try hard enough. It should be easier to do after a Wake Back To Bed to help with the chance of inducing a WILD.
